Our 2014 Christo’s Paddock Cabernet Sauvignon is ready for release – and just in time – as we put the sold out sign up on the trophy-winning 2013 vintage. It is the second consecutive year we have taken out the trophy for Best Cabernet at the Langhorne Creek Wine Show and reinforces my strong belief in the extraordinary quality of our vineyard on the Angas River.

The 2014 vintage conditions were reminiscent of the great vintages of the early 2000s, when cooler days produced fantastic slow ripening and ultimately one of the highest quality vintages experienced in Langhorne Creek for many years.

Production: 173 dozen
A small parcel of fruit from old vines was hand-picked for our Cabernet in 2014. Whole bunches were selectively picked, crushed and left on skins for seven days. The wine was aged for 18 months in a combination of 35% new and old French oak barrels. Drink now as a young, assertive Cabernet showing layers of flavour including blackcurrant, cassis, plum, mint, cedary oak and fine-grained, chewy tannins, or cellar for 20 + years.
